It was 20+ years ago. My doctor stuck a very ugly needle in me to take a biopsy of a large lump in my right breast. Long story short, it was malignant and I had a mastectomy. Why is this a lucky day? I learned so much. I survived.

Lessons learned -

  • Cherish your family and friends

  • There is power in prayer

  • You only get one body; treat it right

  • Thank your lucky stars for great doctors and medical personnel

  • Be grateful for volunteers who help you along the way

  • Support cancer research

  • Reach out to a cancer patient - it means so much.
