Free Gardening Workshop Helps Seniors Grow with Confidence This Spring
CHICAGO, IL — As spring approaches, Windy City Seniors is inviting local residents to get a head start on the growing season with a free community workshop, “Your Best Garden Ever,” on Friday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Austin Irving Public Library, 6100 W. Irving Park Road.
Designed especially for older adults and beginners, this hands-on session will focus on simple, practical ways to start and maintain a successful garden — whether in a backyard, on a patio, or using containers.
The program will include a guest speaker, live Q&A, and easy-to-follow planting tips tailored to Chicago conditions. Attendees will learn how to choose the right plants, use containers effectively, and avoid common beginner mistakes.
