This fall, Windy City Seniors reaches an exciting milestone!

We are proud to announce that we have been accepted into the official @AARP program to deliver technology training to older adults. 💻 Older Adults Technology Services (@OlderAdultsTechnologyServices) is a nationally recognized leader in digital literacy. Their mission aligns perfectly with ours: to help older adults stay connected, independent, and confident in today’s online world. Through their training, @WindyCitySeniors will become certified instructors, able to deliver high-quality digital literacy classes right here in Portage Park.

Classes are planned to begin this November at our new community hub generously hosted by The Bridge Community Church, 3859 N Central Ave. They are opening their doors so Windy City Seniors can present these classes free of charge to older adults in our community.

These classes will give seniors the opportunity to learn everything from email basics and online safety to video calls, streaming, and digital tools for everyday life. Once we have a schedule in place, we’ll share it here.

We’re thrilled by this opportunity because it’s more than just “computer lessons.” It creates connection, confidence, and community spirit. Seniors who join won’t just learn how to use a laptop or phone — they’ll gain the skills to connect with family, access resources, and discover new interests.

We are deeply grateful to AARP and OATS for this opportunity, and we look forward to sharing more updates as training begins in September and classes launch in November.

Follow us here for updates — and please share this post to help spread the word to seniors who could benefit.💙 Thank you!
